BREAKING NEWS: U.S Expert To Unveil Australia’s New Mandatory Data Sharing Model at Expo

Only at the upcoming Auto Aftermarket Expo, will attendees get an exclusive first look at Australia’s soon to be released mandatory data sharing platform – direct from the expert who pioneered the technology.

Donny Seyfer, Executive Director of the American based National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) will travel from the U.S to Australia specifically to attend the Expo, taking place 7 – 9 April in Melbourne. Across two seminar sessions, Donny will share his considerable experience from the U.S, and demonstrate the system that will support Australia’s soon to be released Secure Data Release Model (SDRM).

The Australian platform will be based on the NASTF model, a tried-and-true SDRM system that has been effectively facilitating the secure transfer of diagnostic and reprogramming information between U.S vehicle manufacturers and independent repairers for over a decade.

The new SDRM will also provide repairers with access to immobiliser, pin and keycode information plus electric and high voltage vehicle repair information.

“With the Expo only 11 weeks from the introduction of the new scheme, attending really is your best opportunity to gain a head start on learning how the new scheme will work in practice, what information will be made available, how you will access it and what tools and training you will need. And the Expo is completely free to anyone in the trade,” said Stuart Charity, CEO of the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA).

“The NASTF platform was chosen because, over many years in service, the system has been continually improved to make the process more streamlined, easier and secure for technicians who use the platform regularly.”

Australia’s Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme will come into effect on 1st  July this year after a tireless campaign championed by the AAAA on behalf of the country’s independent repairers.

Complimenting the two sessions with Donny Seyfer will be further education opportunities surrounding the forthcoming law. This includes a Mandatory Data Sharing seminar by Lesley Yates, AAAA’s Director of Government Relations and Advocacy, as well as advanced diagnostics presentations each day in the dedicated Workshop of the Future Pavilion.

Other important seminars at the Expo, proudly sponsored by Repco will cover: The most common legal issues affecting workshops, how to use data to improve business performance, getting business fundamentals in place, how to improve customer service, the five steps to workshop success, the future of vehicle modification, and how to step away from your business for a holiday.

Registration for the Expo and seminars is free of charge, however limited tickets are available for each seminar session, and we expect the NASTF sessions to fill up quickly.
