About AASRA

AASRA’s core function is to support the day-to-day operation of the Scheme and to facilitate the process for Australian repairers to access safety and security information.

The appointment and powers of the Australian Automotive Service and Repair Authority (AASRA) are outlined within the Competition and Consumer Amendment (Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme) Act 2021. An Act designed to promote competition between Australian repairers of passenger and light commercial vehicles and to establish a fair and level playing field, by mandating access to vehicle manufacturers information used to diagnose, repair, service, modify or dismantle vehicles leading to greater consumer choice.
